Old private lodge "Kumanoya"

This is a nostalgic town where steam locomotives run every day.
And it is a place where you can enjoy the magnificent Oi River shining in blue-green.

The 90-year-old old private house, renovated with all water features, offers old but comfortable accommodations.
The four Japanese-style rooms arranged in the shape of a rice paddy field are 34 tatami mats in size when the sliding doors are opened.
The shiny black beams, the smell of tatami mats, and the patterned glass inlaid in the old-fashioned fittings will add to your nostalgic mood.

The inn is limited to one guest per day.
So, even if you have small children running around, or if you stay up late drinking with your friends, you will not have to worry.
You can freely arrange your own trip without worrying about anyone else.

We recommend a full day of sightseeing and outdoor activities around the Oigawa River(大井川), which is rich in nature, or a visit to see Thomas and James the locomotive. (Usually operates from June to October).
You can also enjoy cooking in our spacious dining kitchen.


Rates are reasonable for large groups or for consecutive nights. Enjoy a relaxing time in the countryside away from the crowds.
