Casa Nahual – A Hidden Sanctuary in the Mountains of Izu
Tucked away in a quiet valley near the southern tip of the Izu Peninsula, Casa Nahual is a hand-built mountain lodge where time slows down and nature gently surrounds you.
Created by a world-traveling owner and caretaker, this home is alive with creativity, recycled beauty, and a spirit of true sustainability. From the wooden deck, you can gaze over mountains meeting the sea, while birds and spring water bring life to every corner.
Here, humans live with nature — not above it.
Three friendly cats share the land, and in the nearby forest, deer and wild boar roam freely.
Pure mountain spring water flows from the tap, safe for drinking and bathing.
The road to the house is narrow, and the walk from the parking area is steep — but at the end, a peaceful world awaits.
If you seek simplicity, stillness, and a sense of wonder — welcome home.
