Osaka Guesthouse Sakura used to be a restaurant before we renovated it and turned it into a guesthouse. It’s a nice place with a typical Japanese interior design and atmosphere, located in the heart of Umeda, a major commercial and business district of Osaka.
The guesthouse is ideally located a 10 minutes’ walk from Osaka station, offering great access to popular sightseeing attractions and shopping areas.
We organize different activities to offer you the possibility to learn how to make takoyakis, to become a Samurai or to play Japanese drums.

◇Takoyaki experience (available everyday! ¥,1000/person)
Make takoyakis, one of the most popular Osakan dish!
Don’t just eat takoyakis, learn how to make them yourself! Plus, it’s our speciality here at Osaka Guesthouse Sakura.

The guest house’s staff will be giving the lesson. Minimum 1 person is required for this activity.

◇Samurai experience (Adult price: ¥5,400 Child price (under 10 years old): ¥3,200)
Our most popular activity! Last year, 1000 people from 32 different countries participated! It includes a photoshoot in samurai clothing, a demonstration of basic movements and fighting techniques (for those who have a katana), and a 1-minute film of you performing some samurai actions.
You will remember this experience for a long time!​
Once again, our staff will lead the activity.​

◇Taiko (Japanese drums) experience (¥5,000/person)
Enjoy a 1h30 lesson during which you will discover the history of Japanese drums and be able to play this traditional and impressive instrument. Learn the rhythms and movements and perform an entire song!
Join us for this unique and fun experience!

◇Japanese Cuisine & Osaka Tour (¥1,000/person)
Let the students of the Kansai area show you around and entertain you during a “time slip experience” and a “Japanese cuisine experience”.
Learn how to make tempura and chirashi sushi at the guesthouse, together with other fellow travelers in a fun atmosphere.
After the cooking lesson, students will show you around and take you to hidden spots and historic places.
Highly recommended to people who want to see more than the popular attractions or who’d like to meet local people!
