Thank you for your interest in my house.

"Umino 24" is an old traditional Okinawan house with a cement tiled roof built in 1959. It was renovated, the whole house is for rental.

This is an Okinawan old folk house inn that has been renovated with a loft and the floor plan based on Okinawan family customs has been kept as much as possible.
I hope you will be able to relax and enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of your grandmother's house and the modern atmosphere in this new space.

There are many elderly people living in the village.
Everyone greets me friendly, so I would be happy if you could greet them.

There is a fishing port that is three minutes away on foot and is popular among those who like fishing. (You can participate in the auction of fresh fish on the morning of the third Sunday of every month).

*About 40 to 50 minutes by car from Naha Airport.
Since there are few public transportations, I recommend you to move by a rental car.

*When a customer from abroad drives a rental car, he needs an international driver's license.

Hello. My husband and I run an architectural design firm, and we have helped to build various stores and houses.

We like modern and high-tech things, but I also like old folk houses that make me nostalgic. When my husband and I started an architectural design firm about twenty years ago, we both looked for an old folk house with a cement tile roof that we both liked, but at that time we couldn't find one and gave up.
Still, I didn't give up and was looking for an old folk house with a cement tile roof, then I found an old folk house that had been unoccupied for about ten years in a place called Nanjo City Chinen.

There is a grave of my husband's ancestors in Nanjo City Chinen, and when I found it very close to the place where I visit every year, I thought, "Here!" and felt a fateful encounter.

We renovated it with the intention of living there ourselves. However, when I learned that not a single cement tile factory remained, I decided to start an old private house inn with the hope of "spreading awareness of the simple and nostalgic atmosphere of cement tiles, which are disappearing.
