"How can humans live richer, healthier, and more peaceful lives?" We're Patrick and Maiko, a Japanese-French couple who moved here to find the answer to this question. We run the inn, Le Lotus Bleu.
<We want you to travel like you live here>
Ishigaki Island is home to energetic nature and strong, cheerful, and kind people who live simply. During your stay at our home, we want you to spend time here as if you were a local, discovering and experiencing these things. Even when your time at our home returns to normal, we hope that your time here will provide you with some inspiration.
<Rather than greedily consuming tourism, we want to create tourism that nourishes the soul, cherishing nature, culture, and people>
Souvenirs you don't know if you need them or not. Feasts that drain the land's resources. More amenities than necessary...
Isn't it enough with material things?
Rather than leaving behind anything material, we want you to take home many of those sensations: the indescribable blue of the ocean, the smile of an elderly woman's crinkled laugh, the overwhelming depth of greenery of the plants, the suffocating humidity...
<Home>
This private lodging is located in a century-old traditional Japanese house relocated from Hida to Ishigaki Island 40 years ago. While we don't offer the most luxurious service or flashy interiors, you can still experience the feel and scent of tatami and wood under your bare feet. Enjoy a moment of self-care in a quiet, natural setting just 100 meters from the ocean.
<Yoga, Massage>
As time passes by like a hurricane every day, are you able to listen to your mind and body? Our staff offers yoga classes and massages (by reservation). Enjoy yoga on tatami mats surrounded by the sounds of birdsong, the rustling of camphor tree leaves in the wind, and the rippling of water in the moat.
Enjoy a high-quality, all-hands, oil massage without the pressure of time. We'll help you achieve deep relaxation and connect with yourself. And what's even better is that you're staying right next door. Unlike a regular studio or salon, there's no need to commute... It's a rare opportunity to maintain a parasympathetic nervous system dominant state.
<Rooms>
The guest rooms and massage room are located on the second floor of the house.
To ensure your privacy and relaxation, each room is equipped with a toilet and shower, a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, and simple tableware, so you can enjoy simple meals in your room. Delicious sashimi and bento boxes are available for purchase within the village.
Other amenities: Air conditioner, refrigerator, shampoo, conditioner, body shampoo, hand soap, tissues, mosquito coils, etc.
One bath towel and face towel are provided for each guest. From an ecological perspective, we do not automatically change towels. There is a washing machine, drying area, and laundry detergent on the first floor, so please feel free to use them except in the early morning and late night hours. If your futon isn't drying and you need a new one, please let us know.
Clean futons are kept in the closet. Since we want to avoid excessive service, we ask that guests lay out their own futons.
<Free Space>
On the first floor, we have a fairly large free space, including a dining room, a large tatami room (yoga room), a veranda, and two terraces.
Relax, do yoga, read on the terrace, or enjoy a chat...
Enjoy your own "good time."
We look forward to meeting our once-in-a-lifetime guests.
As this is a very old traditional wooden building, it lacks sound insulation. Please be considerate of noise levels so that everyone can enjoy their stay comfortably.
