人空田 JINKU-DEN @ Iuchi vil. 150y/o farm house

JINKU-DEN（人空田）is an old thatched-roof house over 150 years old, located in the mountains of To-on City, Ehime Prefecture. It stands quietly in a quiet valley, welcoming visitors and enveloping them with the warmth of its solid wood.

Iuchi, To-on City, where Jinku-den stands, is located about 40 minutes from the center of Matsuyama City, in an area with beautiful mountains in the Ishizuchi mountain range. The area maintains beautiful terraced rice paddies in the present day for those in the know, and their presence is inspiring to those who see them, reminding them of the power of their predecessors.

The houses in the Inai area are located at an altitude of about 300 to 500 meters above sea level, and even in Ehime Prefecture, which is a mild climate, it snows in winter and the difference in temperature between morning and evening in summer makes the rice grow tasty. Terraced rice from the Iuchi district is sold with confidence, including "Iuchi Rice" and "Kanno Rice". （The quality and durability of "shikimi" (Japanese millet), which is produced with the same care as rice, is said to be so good that people choose to buy rice produced in Iuchi.

The high altitude of the Iuchi area sometimes makes one sigh at the scenery created by the sky and mountains. In summer, the lush sky and beautiful green mountains are refreshing, and the summer heat is pleasant. Even on dreary rainy days, the mountains seem to come alive with mist, and the way they become one with the sky is as magical as if you were looking at an ink painting. At night, being far away from the lights of the city, the stars in the night sky are so beautiful that you may wonder how many there are in the sky.

In the Iuchi area, a community revitalization organization led by local residents has been established to revitalize the aging community. Jinku-den is also operated with the cooperation of "Farmer's Restaurant Botan Chaya(Tea house)". Although no one has experience in the lodging business, local residents cooperate with each other in the operation of the restaurant, so if you find someone in the community, please ask him or her about life in the Iuchi area, To-on City, or information about the neighborhood. Of course, please feel free to ask any of our staff members.
We also offer guided tours to harvest vegetables, make konnyaku, visit waterfalls, castle ruins, etc., from season to season, so please ask when making your reservation.

* "Doburoku" and "doburoku sweets" are available for purchase on site.

[About Children's Rates]
* Preschool children who sleep with an adult (not using a futon) are free of charge. For example, in the case of 2 adults and 1 preschooler, please apply for "2 people".
* Children in the first through third grades of elementary school will be charged a child's rate (half the adult rate). One child rate option must be purchased per night per person who is eligible for the child rate. For example, if two adults and two 3rd grade elementary school students are staying for two nights, set the number of guests to "2 people" and purchase 4 options of "Child 1 Night Rate (1 night with no meal or 2 meals)" (2 per night, so 2 nights x 2 persons = 4). The regular rate will be applied to 4th grade elementary school students and above. For 2 adults and 2 4th grade elementary school students, please make a reservation for "4 people".

There are only three buses a day and it takes about 20 minutes by car from the nearest train station, so we recommend that you visit by car (free parking is available).
