Piyo Piyo House Kumiage is a traditional Japanese farmhouse stay (kominka stay) where you can enjoy an authentic countryside experience, farm activities, and even explore rural relocation near Tokyo.
Located about 1.5 hours from Tokyo in the nature-rich area of Katori City, Chiba. This 50-year-old traditional Japanese house is surrounded by open farmland, offering a peaceful and spacious countryside setting. Japanese honeybees, chickens, and cats live on the property.
At Piyo Piyo House Kumiage, you will stay with a host family who relocated from Tokyo, giving you a real-life rural Japan experience. The property is also officially selected as a trial stay location for those interested in moving to Katori City, Chiba.
Wake up to sunlight and birdsong, care for animals surrounded by blue skies and greenery, and fall into a deep sleep with the sounds of insects and peaceful silence at night. This nature-rich stay is ideal for relaxation, wellness retreats, digital detox, and workation in Japan.

The bedroom is a traditional tatami room in a 50-year-old two-story Japanese house.
Shared spaces with the host include a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and bathroom, all renovated with modern amenities.
Enjoy a relaxing stay surrounded by nature.
■ Cats on the property
There are pet cats in the shared spaces. While we maintain cleanliness, please note they may play with fabrics, walk on sinks, or catch insects.
They may scratch car hoods, so protective covers are available upon request.
■ Japanese honeybees on site
Japanese honeybees are kept on the property. Occasionally, yellow pollen stains may appear on laundry.
■ Chickens in the garden
Hens are calm, but roosters can be aggressive.
■ Garden activities
Guests can collect eggs and harvest seasonal produce in the garden.
