There's a farm shop selling 100% Higashiomi produce, where you can enjoy delicious local cuisine, and the area is also pioneering environmental initiatives.

Darenchi is a lodging facility where guests have self-renovated half of the second floor accommodation space of an old house.
Enjoy a relaxing stay while connecting with the people, things, and nature of the area.

■ Connecting Agricultural Experiences■
Higashiomi boasts the largest amount of farmland in the Kinki region. It's a region that thrives not only on rice and vegetables, but also on fruit trees like pears and grapes.
We will ask you about your desired experience and connect you with farmers who are as similar to your needs as possible (although we may not be able to accommodate your request).
For example... Tomato harvesting and sorting experience, pear farmer talk and pear tasting, strawberry runner removal, taro harvesting experience, pickling with a farmer, etc.

■ Meals with a Homestay Family (Lunch/Dinner) ■
Higashiomi is a popular destination for farmstays. Homestay families will come to your home and prepare meals for you. Enjoy interacting with them as you share simple cooking and preparation experiences using local ingredients.

■ Site Visit to Resource Recycling in Higashiomi ■
Higashiomi is the birthplace of the "Nanohana Eco Project," a resource recycling initiative that has spread nationwide. We'll be taking you on a tour of the Aito Eco Plaza Nanohanakan, a pioneering environmental project with a long history that began in response to environmental issues surrounding Lake Biwa. This site produces a variety of products, including soap, rapeseed oil, BDF, and charcoal. If you'd like to learn more, we have other options available. Please contact us.
