THE PUBLIC Entire building

On August 16, 2019, a 40-year-old Japanese house was reborn as an overnight farm facility in Teshima, Kumagaya City.

We will rent one of our wonderful farm stay facilities in a renovated Japanese house in Osato.(Some of the private rooms in the building are not available. Please let us know if you would like to use a private room.)

The building is equipped with modern technology, with walls with high thermal insulation and double-paned windows to withstand the cold of the "kara-kaze" wind blowing down from Mount Akagi and the hot summers of Kumagaya, which boasts the highest temperatures in Japan.

It takes less than 20 minutes by car from the south exit of Kumagaya Station.
Located right next to the Arakawa river bank, the time at this location is completely different from that of the north exit of the station.
If you go up the path on the bank at the back entrance, you will see vast fields and greenery spread out in front of you. You can re-experience the old-fashioned Japanese scenery.

Many farmers live in the neighborhood, and you will be able to experience the lifestyle that is no longer possible in today's modern world of living with nature.

We would like to provide accommodations that suit your style, so please feel free to contact us with any requests you may have!

Please note that our staff will not be available from midnight to the next morning, so we will leave the key to the facility with you. Please make sure to lock the door when you go out.

There is a FamilyMart within a 4-minute drive or 15-minute walk.
There is a 7-Eleven 5 minutes away by car and 20 minutes away by foot.

【Laundry nearby】
There is a washing machine in THE PUBLIC. Laundry: 100 yen per load.

【Restaurants in the neighborhood】
There is a restaurant called Musashino Udon "Koumugi" 7 minutes away by car for lunch.

【Access from central Tokyo to Kumagaya】
<By train>
　1 hour and 15 minutes from central Tokyo by JR Takasaki Line (Shonan Shinjuku Line).
　40 minutes from Tokyo Station by JR Joetsu Shinkansen.
<By car>
　From central Tokyo, exit at the Higashimatsuyama Interchange on the Kan-etsu Expressway and drive about 20 minutes.

【From Kumagaya Station to THE PUBLIC】
45 minutes on foot, 20 minutes by bicycle, 15 minutes by bus, or 10 minutes by car (cab).

<By foot or bicycle>
From Kumagaya Station South Exit, walk along the bank of the Arakawa River and cross the Arakawa Ohashi Bridge.After crossing the bridge, turn left before the second traffic light and proceed along Midori-no-Michi and Misaki-Umineko Kaido.
At the first intersection, turn left and go about 500 meters.
At the end of the road, turn right, go 80 meters and THE PUBLIC is on your left.

<By car>
From the Kumagaya Station South Exit, head toward Route 407 and cross the Arakawa Bridge.
After crossing the bridge, turn left before the second traffic light and take Midori-no-Michi and Misaki-Umineko Kaido.
At the first intersection, turn left and go about 500 meters.
At the end of the street, turn right, go 80 meters and THE PUBLIC is on your left.

<By Taxi>
Please enter "215 Teshima, Kumagaya City" in the navigation system. The fare will be about 1,750 yen.

<By Bus>
From the Kumagaya Station South Exit, board the "Yuu-yuu-basu" bus and disembark at Teshima.
After getting off at the bus stop, turn left at the rice mill with vending machines on your left, and take the left side of the road that divides into two.
Pass the "Takahashi Barber Shop" and turn right at the end of the street.
Turn left at the first corner.
After 150 meters, you will see THE PUBLIC on your right.

We will prepare 15 single futon sets.
