About [Zakimi Guest house]
If you go northwest from Nago City, you will reach the Haneji area.
We use "cement tiles" that were popular after World War II, so you can feel the old-fashioned Okinawan atmosphere.
The "cement tiles" on the roof are decorated with characters and patterns related to each house. Some houses even have shisa (Okinawan dolls) on them.
In the Haneji area, agriculture, especially rice cultivation, has been flourishing for a long time in Okinawa. It was called "Haneji Tarbuk" (meaning "rice bag"), the largest rice production area in Okinawa.
In this warm and blessed region of Haneji, rice, pineapples, and sugar cane are grown. Most of the crops grown in Okinawa, such as pineapples, sugar cane, and mangoes, are grown here.
For meals, we serve local cuisine and try to use fresh vegetables from our own fields.
If you want, we can buy some Awamori chili at a nearby store, so let's have a yuntaku (socializing) party!
For a limited time, we also have a plan to experience harvesting crops.
You can taste the harvested pineapples and sugar cane on the spot.
Please enjoy the bounty of the Okinawan land.
The Haneji area is also famous for its beautiful scenery.
The "Arashiyama Observatory" is about a 10-minute drive from the hotel. It is a spectacular spot where you can see the "Haji Inland Sea," one of the eight scenic spots in Okinawa. The sky that stretches out so far that you can see through it and the clear blue sea that spreads out forever.
Mangrove forests, found only in the subtropics, grow in clusters in the vicinity. Beyond the mangroves, there is a vast tidal flat that is a paradise for gobies and lionfish.
Our inn is not only for families and friends, but we also accept solo travelers! We hope that through this inn, you will have new encounters and discoveries and that it will become a second home for many people.
