Farmer's Guest House Satoyama

This inn offers a duck hunting experience!
Under the guidance of Mr. Moriyama, a former hunter who now runs Farmer's Guest House Satoyama, you can experience duck hunting with a hunter from the local hunting club. Although travelers cannot use guns, the excitement and tension of spotting a duck, the power of the gun, the team play of the hunters, and the gratitude for life when you receive a duck will stimulate all five senses in a way you have never experienced before.

The hunting season is from November 15 to February 15, but the farmhouse guest house Satoyama can be enjoyed outside of the hunting season as well.

■Recommended Points
* Newly opened in 2021, so the facilities are brand new.
* The Moriyama couple's cuisine is made with delicious local ingredients. Of course, the rice is Niigata Koshihikari rice!
* A Japanese garden with Nishikigoi carp swimming in the grounds. Just looking at the garden is relaxing!
Fruit picking is available in the kiwi/kaki/tangerine/yuzu/blueberry fields.
* You can also experience agriculture in the rice paddies.

■For travelers
We have turned a detached house into an inn. It can be used for a variety of occasions, from families, to friends, to remote work in a relaxing space. Please spend a relaxing time with a view of the garden.

Notes and Information
Please note that "Farmer'sGuest House Satoyama" is not a private house. Other guests may stay at the inn (in separate bedrooms).

■Example of how to spend time from check-in to check-out

Day 1
15:00: Check-in. Visit the facility and the gardens, rice paddies and fields on the property until dinner.
18:00: Strategy meeting and dinner. (Mr. and Mrs. Moriyama of Farmer's Guest House Satoyama and 2~3 hunters)
20:00: Bath and bedtime

Day 2
7:00: Depart from Satoyama Farmhouse. Duck hunting
9:30: Duck hunting ends.
10:00：Return to Farmer's Guest House Satoyama.
12:00：Check out

■Accommodation Fee　
One night with 2 meals (dinner and breakfast).
Maximum 7 people can stay.

Child Rates
There is a child rate in addition to the adult rate (junior high school students and older).
Please apply for "Child Rates" from the "Options" page.
Please make sure to apply for elementary school students.
Please make sure to apply for children who need to prepare meals.
Children who do not apply for the children's fee will not receive meals or bedding.

Precautions
　* Only during the hunting season from November 15 to February 15.
　* Please note that ducks may not be caught.
　* Adults only.
　* Only those who come by car can use this tour. You will be asked to follow the guide's car on the day of the tour.
　* We will go ahead with the tour unless the weather turns bad.
　* You are not allowed to carry a hunting rifle.

Recommended spots in the neighborhood
Birthplace of Yoshihiro Yoshihiro, port of call for Kitamae-bune (Kitamaebune), gold and silver unloading at Sado Kinzan, historic Izumozaki, tour of the Yoshihiro Yoshihiro Memorial Museum and Tsumairi streets, sea bathing, and visit the fish auction market at the Izumozaki fishing port.

Kan-etsu Expressway (関越自動車道)- Nagaoka(長岡) JCT - Hokuriku Expressway - Nishiyama(西山) IC - 20 minutes on Route 116

By train from Tokyo
From Tokyo Station, take the Joetsu Shinkansen and get off at Nagaoka Station: approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.
From Nagaoka Station, take a bus (Echigo Kotsu) and get off at Izumozaki Station: about 55 minutes.
Pick-up service from Izumozaki Station to Farmer's Guest House Satoyama: approx. 10 min.
