Hakkaisan, also famous for its sake, is one of the most heavily snow-covered areas in Japan, with over 3 meters of snow in winter. At the foot of the mountain, Minamiumiumiumiumiumium Uonuma City is home to the Hakkaisan Ski Resort and Joetsu International Ski Resort, both of which are located nearby, and is popular for winter sports.
