Once you enter the property, you will find yourself in a different world where the trees, flowers, and birdsong will soothe your soul.

We renovated a 160 year old house by ourselves.
My husband, who has carpentry experience, did all the carpentry work from dismantling to construction.
It took time and care to build the house.
My wife, who has experience in interior design, was in charge of the design and layout, and while taking advantage of the old wood, she was particular about even the toilet, providing a room where you can feel at home in any place.
We also put a lot of effort into gardening and decorated all the rooms with flowers and plants.

On sunny days, enjoy breakfast on the garden deck, or take a break from farming and have a cup of coffee.

On our 350 tsubo (about 1,860 square meters) of land...
The garden has over 100 species of plants and a small field where we grow 30 kinds of vegetables, wild plants, herbs, and berries naturally and without pesticides per year.
We started growing rice in 2016, and it is grown without pesticides and fertilizers.
You can experience planting seeds, planting rice, and harvesting rice.
Please taste the delicious rice grown with spring water from the North Alps.

Amazing hosts - our favorite part of Japan!

Yoshi and Nao were incredible hosts! We decided to stay at the Orange Pekoe property during a roadtrip in Japan, and wanted this as a more rural and peaceful experience in the beautiful alps region.

We found that this experience was everything we wished for and more. The home was very beautiful and comfortable, and the mountainous surrounding area and town were gorgeous. In the mornings, we enjoyed eating breakfast and drinking coffee by the mountains, or walking around the beautiful town.

Yoshi and Nao also provided a beautiful work and culinary experience. They taught us about planting rice and we went into the fields with them to plant onions. They also showed us around the surrounding area bit too, which was generous.

And then the food - Nao's cooking and baking was amazing. We tried traditional Japanese foods that we'd never had before such as interesting tempura vegetables. Nao's breads were also delicious and we got to make pizza with her too, which was fun. We had great conversations discussing their life, Japanese culture, and more.

Many thanks to Yoshi and Nao. Hopefully we get to go back one day!

Danさん、Matthew さん、Ryanさん、thank you for the review you gave us !
We miss you so much too!
