(Updated 30 Aug 2024)
Welcome to Kogota, the railway town.
If you listen carefully at night, you can sometimes hear the
whistle of the train changing trains at JR Kogota Station.
It is at a close distance from the station's switching line.
(The photograph shows an event train from the Kogota Station railway bridge.)
The inn is a meeting place for friends, family and fellow
railway enthusiasts travelling slowly on local trains.
However, smoking is not allowed inside or outside.
This is important!
Currently three rooms (A Western-style room Hayabusa,
C Western-style room Kagayaki and D Japanese-style room
Komachi) are in operation.
Each room has a capacity for 2 people (maximum capacity 9
people).
(Japanese-style room B) is a spare room with a capacity of 2
persons (maximum capacity of 3 persons).
Please note that there are no children's rates. Adult rates
apply to children from primary schools age and above.
Please note that children only are not allowed to stay at the
hotel.
The room rates are extremely low due to the opening
campaign.
★Kogota Station is the terminal station of the Kesennuma
Line, branching off from the JR Tohoku Main Line, Rikuu Higashi Line, Ishinomaki Line and Ishinomaki Line, with various
event trains arriving and departing in each of the four seasons.
It is also the first station for local trains and a local train
transfer station.
Kogota has long been a railway fans' station.
From the Kesennuma Line, the railway tracks continue along
the Minami Sanriku coast, including the Sanriku Railway.
(On the way, the lines that lost their tracks in the Great East
Japan Earthquake are connected by the (BRT) Bus Rapid
Transit system.)
The countryside here is so relaxing that you can hear
birdsong in your room, such as the Japanese nightingale.
This is a homestay-type inn with the atmosphere of returning
to your parents' home in the Showa-era retro countryside.
It is not a sophisticated inn, but the owner is also staying
there on the same day, so if you have any questions,
please ask anything.
Toilets and baths are shared as there is one toilet and one
bath each. Please finish the bath by 22:00.
There are also other places nearby, such as Kago-bo Natural
Hot Spring Sakura-no-yu (11 minutes by car) and Natural Hot Spring Wakuya Tenpei-no-yu (17 minutes by car).
If you wish to be picked up and dropped off, please contact us in advance.
The kitchen, dining room and living room are open to guests.
Student exchange camps and families staying for consecutive nights are free to cook for themselves and bring their own
food and drink.
There are supermarkets and convenience stores nearby.
There are also numerous cafeterias and restaurants in the
vicinity of Kouyoda Station.
At the family restaurant JoyulI there are morning sets from
about 300 yen from 5am!
We hope that you will deepen your friendship with your friends and family.
★Depending on the season, we can organise harvesting and
cooking experiences of butterbur, potatoes, pumpkins, quince and peaches in the fields.
Please consult with us in advance as the harvesting season is
irregular.
