(Updated 7 Nov 2024)
Welcome to Kogota, the town of railways.
Shinkansen Furukawa - Kogota Station 12 mins.
‘Minpaku Hibari House’ is a lovely place to stay where you can enjoy the charms of the region! It places great importance on a pleasant Japanese atmosphere and offers visitors a relaxing
time. For those who wish to enjoy the local culture and nature, the location offers a great opportunity to enjoy the sights and beautiful scenery.
The facilities are clean, comfortable and well-equipped,
providing a calm and relaxing place to unwind after a long
journey. The friendly hosts will also assist you during your stay and show you the best local delicacies and places to
experience. It is ideal for groups and families. If you want to
spend a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle of the
city, please enjoy a heart-warming time at Hibari House.
If you listen carefully at night, you can sometimes hear the whistle of the train entering and exiting the JR Kogota station.
As it is in the countryside, you will be soothed by the chirping of birds, such as the Japanese stonechat.
This is a homestay-style inn with the atmosphere of returning home to a retro Showa-era countryside family home.
The inn is a place of exchange for friends and families
travelling slowly by train and for fellow railway enthusiasts.
The host started his career at Wakuya Station, worked at the
counter and handled train departures at Kogota Station, and
remained dedicated to the railway until his retirement. He set up the ‘Railway Travellers’ Inn' as a way of giving back to the
promotion of railway use.
It is not a sophisticated accommodation, but the owner is also staying there on the day, so you can ask for help with anything you are unsure about.
We would like you to get to know your friends and family
better.
The inn operates three rooms (A Western-style room
Hayabusa, C Western-style room Kagayaki and
D Japanese-style room Komachi).
Each room has its own application screen.
Each room has a capacity of two people
(maximum capacity of nine people).
(Japanese-style room B) is a spare room with a capacity of 2
persons (maximum capacity of 3 persons).
Please note that there are no children's rates.
Children from primary schools age and above are charged at
the same rate as adults.
Please note that children alone are not allowed to stay at the
hotel.
The rates are extremely low due to the opening campaign.
Toilets and baths are shared as there is one toilet and one
bath at a time. Please finish the bath by 22:00.
Nearby are Kagobo Natural Hot Spring Sakura no Yu
(11 minutes by car) and Natural Hot Spring Wakuya Tenpyo no Yu (17 minutes by car).
If you wish to be picked up and dropped off, please contact the hotel in advance.
The kitchen, dining room and living room are open to guests.
Student exchange camps and families staying for consecutive nights are free to cook for themselves and bring their own
food and drink.
There are supermarkets and convenience stores nearby.
There are also a number of cafeterias and restaurants in the
vicinity of Kogota Station.
At the family restaurant Joyull, morning sets are available from about 300 yen from 5am!
We hope that you will deepen your friendship with your friends and family.
Depending on the season, we can organise harvesting and
cooking experiences with butterbur, potatoes, pumpkins,
quince and peaches in the fields.
Please consult in advance as the harvesting season is irregular.
