■About Guest House Mirai
The owner, who is like a real mother, welcomes you warmly.
On March 11, 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake hit Japan, and many people in Ishinomaki City, where Guest House Mirai is located, were affected by the disaster. To date, with the cooperation of people from all over Japan and the world involved in recovery, reconstruction, reporting, and research, Ishinomaki City is moving forward, step by step, to its former hometown and beyond.
We opened this guesthouse to provide a place for individual volunteers and university researchers, and named it "Guesthouse Mirai" so that everyone, including Ishinomaki residents and myself, can look forward to the future in this area that was devastated by the earthquake and tsunami.
We have prepared a common space for meetings and banquets in order to provide a place where many people can gather and make lively contacts and connections.
The building is equipped with wireless LAN, and there are computers and printers for common use. We hope you will make use of this space as a place to meet people.

Recommended restaurants
Watamama Bento
Watamama Bento provides food support and care for the elderly in temporary housing by delivering bento boxes made with fresh, locally grown ingredients, one by one, prepared with care by mothers. Each boxed lunch costs 400 yen, of which 20 yen is donated to help pay for school lunches for children in Africa (20 yen is equivalent to one school lunch). This means that with one bento, we can simultaneously provide food support for the elderly in Ishinomaki and food support for children in Africa. Please eat Watamama bento and help support the cause.
