Guesthouse Chaton in Taiki, Mie is a one‑story guesthouse surrounded by mountains, vegetable fields, and rice paddies.
I opened it in April 2025 with a simple wish:
to welcome both Japanese and international guests,
to help people discover the beauty of Japan,
and to create a place where everyone can relax as if returning to their hometown.
I hope to build genuine connections that go beyond language and cultural differences.
During your stay, you can enjoy hands‑on activities such as:
- Harvesting seasonal vegetables
- Chopping firewood and cooking rice over a traditional kamado
- Preparing meals together
- Mochi pounding
- Authentic soba‑making
- Taiko drumming and yokobue flute performance
- Kimono dressing
- Creating traditional tsumami‑zaiku accessories
For guests who want to explore more, I can introduce unique local adventures, including:
- Mie Prefecture’s only caving and packrafting experiences
- Joining local fishermen for a small fixed‑net fishing activity
As a nationally licensed interpreter‑guide, I also offer guided tours of the Ise‑Shima and Higashi‑Kishu regions.
For dinner, I serve Japanese dishes made with fresh, local ingredients.
My special recommendation is Matsusaka Beef Sukiyaki, a premium menu option that many guests love.
Spring brings cherry blossoms,
summer offers river play,
autumn glows with colorful leaves,
and winter reveals a sky full of stars.
Come with your family, your friends, or someone special.
Take your time. Let the gentle rhythm of the countryside guide your stay.
Through Minshuku Chaton, I invite you to experience the heart of Taiki Town and the Ise‑Shima / Higashi‑Kishu region.
