Mikisato Beach, Kutsu River, and Kumano Kodo are within walking distance. It is a very good environment for those who want to relax and play in nature. Various activities to experience nature are also available.
This house was built in 1868 and was carefully renovated by local carpenters using local wood and natural paints in 2021. You can enjoy the texture of the abundant use of wood.

Nagara Guest House is not a private house. The caretaker will be on duty when you stay at the house.
・We are limited to one guest per day. You will not stay with other guests.
・Guests may use the common space.
・Reservations must be made for two people; reservations for one person are not accepted.
■About the rooms
Nagara Guest House is a one-story Japanese-style house. The attic is the private space, so please refrain from entering.
□Bedrooms
At the1F, 4.5 tatami mats Japanese-style room and 6 tatami mats Japanese-style room are used as one unit. It can accommodate up to 6 people.
About the bedding
・The bedding is made of cotton, re-cut by a local futon maker.
・Sheets are mainly 100% cotton.
・Pillowcases are linen.
・Blankets are silk.

The pillow is a "buckwheat" pillow. Please be careful if you are allergic to buckwheat.
□Common space
2 shower rooms, a restroom, a washroom, two board rooms, and a kitchen are shared with the caretaker and other guests who join in our activities if there are.
- There is no bathtub in the shower rooms.
- The kitchen is equipped with a microwave, toaster, rice cooker, and other basic cooking utensils. You can use it to cook during your stay.
- There is a washing machine. Synthetic detergents are not provided. We would greatly appreciate it if you would refrain from bringing your own detergents. There is no dryer.
- Please note that the common space may be used by other guests who join in our activities.
You can use the wooden pavilion space in the backyard (shared) for rest or eating & drinking.
■Terms and Conditions of Accommodation
Basically, we do not provide meals, but we can arrange for boxed lunches from a nearby catering service. Advance reservations are required. Depending on the day of the week and time of year, this service may not be available.

■Activities to enjoy Kumano's nature
Nagara Guest House is operated by "Mikisato-e-Gumi outfitters," which offers sea kayaking, yoga, beach cleaning-ups, and other nature activities. Guests can apply for these activities through STAY JAPAN. Please apply from "Options" on this page.

Please bring your own swimsuit and other clothing. As a rule, the tour will be held rain or shine.
□Kumano Kodo Guides are available.
We will guide you along the Kumano Kodo in the neighborhood. Some courses require time and physical strength, but since we walk slowly, we have a wide range of participants. If you have any concerns, please contact us.
*Guide fee is from 5,000 yen per person including tax (to be paid locally).
The fee varies depending on the trail, so please inquire in advance.

□Supermarkets and Convenience Stores
From Mikisato IC, drive to the Owase Minami (south) IC and you can drive into Owase town, where you will find convenience stores and supermarkets. It takes about 15 minutes to the nearest convenience store (Family Mart) and about 20 minutes to a supermarket (Shufu no Mise) along Route 42.

Prohibited items
・Smoking is prohibited on the premises. Please strictly observe this rule.
・No pets are allowed.
・Hair dyeing in the showers is prohibited.
・No noise during the night and early morning. Please be considerate so as not to disturb neighbors.
・The attic is a private space and is off-limits to visitors.
Precautions and Requests
・Please do not use any body soap other than the one provided for the protection of the environment.
・Please greet our neighbors when you see them so that we can spend a pleasant time together.
・The rooms except the guests’ bedroom which is Japanese-style room is common space.
・The common space may be used by the other guests who join in our activities.
