Guesthouse Kamenarien

Guesthouse Kamenarien is located on the edge of Matsusaka City in Mie Prefecture, just a short distance from Nara Prefecture, surrounded by high mountains and close to a clear stream. While traveling between Ise and Mt. Koya pilgrimage, you can interact with chickens, experience a self-sufficient farm, and relax in an old private house.

The optional chicken dismemberment and deer leg dismemberment experiences will give you a deep experience of self-sufficiency. In summer, please enjoy playing in the river, BBQ, star-gazing, insect hunting, and other activities at your leisure. We look forward to seeing you in the four seasons, deep in the airy satoyama.


■About the rooms
Guesthouse Kamenarien is an old private house built in the Taisho era (1912-1926).
Although we have renovated the shower room and other rooms, the atmosphere inside the building remains the same as in the past, and you can spend your time surrounded by wood and tatami mats. It is a Japanese-style house that is cool even in summer.

Bedroom
A Japanese-style room (16 tatami mats) of 8 tatami mats with two rooms connected to each other. We can provide a maximum of 5 futon sets.
There is no TV.

Kitchen
A refrigerator, gas stove, pots, pans, basic seasonings, tableware, etc. are provided and can be used freely for cooking during your stay, and are especially recommended for self-catering trips. There is a kitchen waste composting system, so you can experience a highly eco-friendly lifestyle.

* BBQ grills (with charcoal) are available for rent.
* There are no microwave ovens or electric kettles.

Shower room
There is no bathtub. It has been remodeled.

Toilet
The toilets use bio-toilets that use neither electricity nor water, and are popular as a disaster-prevention experience.

Breakfast at Kamenarien
Kamenarien is proud of its eggs, which are raised on a heirloom farm. Please enjoy the eggs with delicious rice produced in Iitaka. The miso used in our miso soup is "Tottoki Miso" produced in Iitaka. Please experience a wonderful breakfast with rich ingredients from Kahaikyo.

We will provide you with a set of rice, eggs, and homemade instant miso soup from the main house, so please cook the rice, boil water, and enjoy it at your leisure. Please feel free to use the tableware provided.

If you want this set for dinner, please let us know in advance.

Children's rates are set separately from adult rates.
Children of elementary school age and older (with bedding/weekdays/nights before holidays)

Please apply for the number of persons x number of nights under "Options".
If your preschool child uses a futon, please apply for the child rate with futon.
Weekday rates are different from rates on days before holidays. Please make sure to apply for the correct rate.
Please make sure to apply for the rates on the day before a holiday even if it is a weekday. Please inquire.

Pet Accommodation
If you wish to bring your pet, please consult with us in advance.
The accommodation fee for pets is 1,000 yen per pet, per night, including tax.

Please check in at the entrance of Guest House Kame-seien. Please fill out the guest list.

□Experiences For Free
Guests who wish to experience the following three activities should request them at the time of check-in.

(1) Cockatoo petting experience
During the time between check-in time and check-out time, you can visit the chicken coop behind the guesthouse and feed grass and hold chickens.

(2) Experience natural farming in the field (rain or shine) (negotiable)
If it is between check-in time and check-out time, you can visit the field in front of the guesthouse and experience a small harvest.

(3) Guided walks and forest lectures in the area
During the time between check-in time and check-out time
The owner will give you a guided tour of the area and a lecture on the forest.

If you want to play in the river, the Karatani River, a 5-minute walk away, is safe for small children. It is also recommended for people with pets. We invite you to walk with us for a stroll in the area. It takes about 20 minutes to the observatory of the lotus dam.
The Rainbow Fountain, a 15-minute drive, is a different space of powerful ceramic art.
