[What's it like?]
The nearest station is Ino Station, the terminus of the Tosaden tram, which runs from the center of Kochi City. Yananose House is about a 20-minute drive from there, driving along the Niyodo River. While there's a public bus stop right in front of the house, we highly recommend renting a car.
This guesthouse offers two spaces for exclusive use: a traditional single-story bedroom and a 140-year-old, open-plan living building. The banks of the Niyodo River, boasting Japan's best water quality, are a two-minute walk away. Three hot springs and spa facilities are within a 15-minute drive.
[Accommodation Information]
Accommodations are limited to two to six guests. (Even if only one person stays, the accommodation fee for two people applies.)
Dogs are allowed (under certain conditions) with prior approval. While this is not a hotel, it can be inconvenient, allowing you to enjoy the open, private atmosphere of a private rental. Due to the old wooden building, barbecues and smoking are prohibited on the premises.
[Fully-equipped Kitchen]
All basic cooking utensils and tableware are provided. We also use authentic seasonings, always stocking authentic soy sauce, sun-dried salt, beet sugar, extra virgin olive oil, rice oil, and vinegar.
It's fun to stay up late cooking with friends or family using ingredients sourced from local supermarkets and farm-to-farm shops. The high-quality seared bonito (katsuo) sold at supermarkets is unique to Kochi. Be sure to try it.
We'll provide you with information on recommended supermarkets when you make your reservation.
[Seasonal Activities]
From early summer to autumn, you can enjoy a variety of activities on the Niyodo River, including canoeing, SUP, and rafting. We'll provide you with recommended activities after your reservation is confirmed. In the summer, we'll also introduce you to local riverside spots.
We're currently planning an optional citrus harvesting experience with a dedicated citrus farmer from October to December.
In winter, you can also relax by the wood-burning stove.
The popular Niyodo Blue viewing spots are about 40 minutes away by car. You can enjoy the Niyodo Blue even in winter. There are several locations nearby that feature the scenery featured in "The Dragon and the Freckled Princess."
