The Former Nishiyama Residence is an old folk house located in the heart of the Oji district of Kasuga-cho, Tanba City. In addition to the main house, which dates back over 100 years and features a thatched roof, a storehouse, a detached building, and a bathroom building surround a courtyard. Having been vacant for many years, the house has been meticulously renovated, retaining its charm while incorporating modern comforts and functionality. The minimalist design, which does not interfere with the house's environmental performance, creates a comfortable living space that aligns with the rhythms of nature throughout the seasons.
The Oji district is a solidly rural area, and Mount Mio, visible from anywhere in the district, is a cherished mountain that locals have gazed upon since childhood and feel close to. The Oji district has long welcomed many immigrants, and hosts social gatherings for immigrants, including those considering relocating, allowing visitors to experience this cherished culture.
The Former Nishiyama Residence also offers a variety of options to suit your needs, including affordable extended-stay plans and access to various local events and workshops. We will work with you to create a tailor-made accommodation plan.
