Hyakushou-an "Tsumugu" Guest House

A family that has been growing rice, mushrooms, and vegetables as farmers for generations welcomes you to their inn in Higashijo-cho, Shobara City, Hiroshima Prefecture.

The quaint old house, which was built 130 years ago, still retains its original soot-bamboo ceiling and hearth. You can taste the wisdom and ingenuity of life that our ancestors have passed down to us.
You can experience a part of the culture of the peasants who lived there and their self-sufficient lifestyle in the rich nature where insects, wild birds, and mountain animals live together.

Accommodation fee
The basic rate is the "1-night plan".

Meals
We have been raising rice, mushrooms, and vegetables as farmers for generations, and most of the ingredients for the meals we serve are homemade. In addition, we provide "country taste" such as river fish caught in the nearby river and wild boar caught in the mountains.

We disinfect all rooms, along with ventilating the whole inn.
Please note that we also ask our guests to wear masks, disinfect their hands when entering the building, and check their temperature at the entrance.

Japanese style room (7 tatami mats): 2 people, 2 futon bedding sets

Room 3 (detached)
Western-style room (6 tatami mats): maximum of 2 or 3 people, 2 futon bedding sets

Check-in time: 7:00 p.m.
Check-out time: 11:00.
Late night check-in is not allowed.
Late night check-in is not possible, but can be arranged upon request.

Experience
　Agricultural experience (2,000 yen or more per person)
　This is a farming experience based on the guest's request.
　The experience includes harvesting vegetables and mushrooms in the fields, and taking care of goats and chickens (feeding them, etc.).
BBQ in the garden with the harvested food is also available.

　Food culture experience <¥2,000～/per person>
You will have the opportunity to experience the food culture that has been handed down from generation to generation in the farmhouse (miso making, pickles, country sushi making, etc.).

　10 minutes by car from Tojo Station on the JR Geibi Line.

Teishaku Gorge
Teishakukyo is an 18-kilometer-long canyon located in the middle of the Chugoku Mountains.
It is a major scenic spot in a national park designated as a national scenic beauty. The scenery created by the beautiful nature and the artificial lake Shenlong Lake is breathtaking. It can be enjoyed all year round, but the autumn foliage is very famous.

Xiong Bridge
This is the most popular sightseeing spot in Kami-Teishakyo.
It is a huge natural limestone bridge.
It is 90m long, 18m wide, 24m thick, and 40m high from the river bottom.

The appearance of the castle town of Dongjo
The town of Higashishiro in Shobara City, where Peasant Hermitage "Boku" is located, is a castle town that has prospered as a "kurogane koro" (a place to collect tatara iron). It is a castle town.
Historic temples, Shinto shrines, and townhouses have blended into the modern townscape and are steeped in history.

Apple orchards in the northern part of Dongcheng Town
There are many apple orchards in the northern part of the town, and you can pick apples at tourist farms from early September to late November.
You can also buy freshly picked apples at the direct sales counter.

Ski resorts "Nekoyama" and "Dogo Mountain
