Our lodge is located in a quiet villa area at an altitude of 1,000 meters, close to Kusatsu Onsen.
While retaining a nostalgic atmosphere, this villa also serves as a base and a place of relaxation for active travelers and those seeking a therapeutic hot spring.
Kusatsu Onsen is just over a 10-minute drive away, and famous hot springs such as Manza and Shima are nearby, allowing you to enjoy their famous hot springs year-round. Mountain lovers will also find Mount Asama and Mount Azuma, two of the 100 famous mountains near the local Mount Kusatsu-Shirane, and many other mountain hikes across Rin Prefecture. Karuizawa is about an hour away, and the view of Mount Asama up close along the way is spectacular.
★ As the entire lodge is rented, the price is 5,900 yen per person, and reservations are generally accepted for a minimum of three adults. (However, reservations are limited to a minimum of four adults on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, Golden Week, Obon, and the New Year's holiday period.) (These prices are before the Go To Travel campaign is applied.)
★ For family reservations, children 12 and under are half the adult price, and children 2 and under are charged a miscellaneous fee of ¥1,500. Please add this option from the options menu.
★ In winter (November to March), a separate heating fee of ¥1,000 per day applies, and ¥300 per person for groups of four or more.
★ Consumption tax is included in the price.
★ Check-in is available from 3 PM, but if you plan to check in after 7 PM, please contact us in advance so we can hand over the key.
★ While you will generally only need to exchange keys upon entering and leaving, we are happy to assist you if you have any issues.
★ As this is a bed-and-breakfast, you can do your grocery shopping at local supermarkets, but we recommend doing so at large supermarkets along the way. Another great way to enjoy the accommodation is to take a short trip to roadside stations and other locations to buy fresh local vegetables and fruits.
★ Parking is available at the entrance, with space for one car and approximately two others.
★ Smoking is prohibited inside the building.
★ As this is a quiet villa area, karaoke and musical instruments are prohibited.
★ Transportation within the area
By car is the best option. This allows for easy access to nearby attractions, not just Kusatsu Onsen.
The express bus terminates at Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal. The train terminates at Naganohara Kusatsuguchi Station, from where you can take a bus to Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal.
★ Directions
[Using the Kan'etsu Expressway]
Get off at Shibukawa-Ikaho Interchange and turn left at the Shiraikamijuku traffic light, 5km ahead on National Route 17, just after Komochi Roadside Station. From there, it's approximately 55km to Kusatsu Onsen.
3km before Kusatsu Onsen, you'll find a 7-Eleven Maeguchi store on your left. Turn left onto Prefectural Route 59 (towards Karuizawa) just below it.
(About 5km before Kusatsu Onsen, you'll see a sign for "Haneo Besso Entrance" on the left side of National Route 292, but if you turn off there, the road becomes complicated and you're sure to get lost. Please exit Prefectural Route 59.)
After about 3km, you'll come to a small bridge called "Akagawa." Instead of going all the way to the bridge, turn left 50m before where you'll see a bus stop for "Haneo Besso Entrance" and a small sign for "Takachiho University Seminar House." Turn left and enter the villa area. Continue for about 1km.
Along the way, there's a fork in the road, but continue straight without turning left.
After a short distance, you'll come across our single-story lodge on the left side of a right curve. In the open space at the entrance, there's a green nameplate with the number "665" written on it, a postbox, and a 2-meter red pole as a landmark.
Navigation systems within the villa area aren't perfect, and it's easy to get lost after dark, so please first aim for the 7-Eleven Maeguchi store. From there, we'll guide you by phone.
Call us at 090-8439-7171.
[From Karuizawa]
Turn left onto Prefectural Route 59 (towards Manza and Kusatsu) via the Onioshidashi Pass, about 30 km from Manza-Kazawaguchi Station. After about 8 km, you'll see a sign for a small bridge called "Akagawa." This is the border between Tsumagoi Village and Kusatsu Town. Just 50 meters from the bridge, you'll see a bus stop called "Haneo Besso Entrance" and a small sign for the "Takachiho University Seminar House." Turn right there to enter the villa area. Continue walking for about 1 km.
If you call just before the Akagawa Bridge, we will guide you.
