This is a homestay-style guesthouse where our family of five and our dog actually live.
Please note that it differs from a hotel in terms of private space and services.
■ Our family lives in the same house.
・The living room, dining area, and wood-fired bath are shared spaces.
・There will be everyday household sounds and children's voices.
■ Your stay may overlap with other guests.
Natural interactions may occur in shared spaces, but there is no pressure to engage.
We aim to maintain a comfortable distance so all guests feel at ease.
■ There is a dog on the premises (does not enter the rooms).
■ About Facilities & Environment
・The bath is wood-fired only — there is no shower.
・No air conditioning, but fans are provided (heating available in winter). At 500m elevation, summers are relatively cool.
・Being in a natural environment, you may occasionally encounter insects depending on the season.
・Community broadcast music plays at 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. (approx. 15 minutes each time).
・The bedroom doors do not have locks.

Behind the guesthouse flows the crystal-clear Shirakawa River, where you can enjoy swimming and fishing.
In the rice paddies out front, seasonal farm stay Japan experiences such as rice planting and harvesting are available.
Lighting the wood-fired bath, bonfires, trekking, and stargazing — an authentic Japan experience you can't find in the city.
In winter, enjoy chopping firewood and relaxing by the wood stove.
Next door to the guesthouse is a traditional Japanese church, where songs and dances are dedicated each morning at 6 a.m. and evening at 6 p.m., accompanied by the sound of taiko drums.
You are welcome to participate in this sacred 15-minute ceremony held morning and evening — a rare chance to experience local culture up close.

The Kurokawa district of Shirakawa-cho, Kamo-gun, Gifu Prefecture, is a tranquil mountain village settled at an elevation of 500 meters.
The area is rich in nature along the Shirakawa River, offering river swimming and stream fishing in summer, brilliant autumn foliage, and winter snowscapes with the warmth of a wood stove.
Nearby is the day-use hot spring facility "Kuratani Onsen Onpoi-no-Yu," perfect for unwinding after your stay.
Accessible from Nagoya, Takayama, and Nakatsugawa — an ideal destination for kominka stay and Japan rural travel beyond the tourist trail.
