DESCRIPTION

Honyara-no-ie is a social guesthouse that makes use of a 110-year-old traditional Japanese house.

It is not a service like an inn or a hotel. It is a place where the hosts live, and guests can experience their stay as if they are immersed in their lives.

We welcome everyone, regardless of age or nationality, including solo travelers and families with children. We hope to create a place that feels like a ""relative's home.""
It is a place where you can spend a relaxing time, while also having spaces where hosts and guests can interact with each other, just like in a guesthouse or youth hostel.

As of February 22, 2023, a cat has joined our family.
They are Ume and Ryu (2 males). Please come and play with them.
If you have cat allergies, please contact us in advance. By the way, we are open to inquiries about pets (we have had cats, dogs, and pigs stay in the past).

《About meals》
The fee is for a room only, but as we place great importance on interaction, dinner is always an additional charge.
Home-cooked meals made with local ingredients.
Dinner is served around 7pm, with the host and all guests gathered around the dining table. It would be a good idea to take a dip in the nearby hot spring before then to ensure a smooth meal.

The restaurant mainly serves home-cooked meals made with locally grown vegetables purchased from nearby farm shops and brown rice.
If you cannot eat brown rice or have any other allergies, please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
If you would like vegan meals, please contact us in advance.
We provide tea as a beverage, but you are also welcome to bring your own.

《About the bath》
Honyaranoie only has small home-sized baths, so guests are asked to use the nearby Onsen Onsen (included in the accommodation fee for adults).
Admission is until 9:00 PM, so we recommend bathing before dinner. Ono Onsen is closed on Fridays, so if you would like to bathe on those days, we will guide you to another nearby hot spring.

《About the facility》
The bedrooms are Japanese style, with futons laid out on tatami mats.
The futons are purchased from a friend who works at a local futon factory, and they provide a comfortable sleeping experience.
Children under 3 years old stay free of charge.

《Notes》
・This is not a hotel-like service. It is a stay where you will become a part of our life.
・Generally, rooms are private, but during busy periods, you may be assigned to a room with someone of the same sex. (Prices will not change.)
・Toilets are shared.
・The partitions are shoji and sliding doors, so there is no soundproofing. There are no locks. Events are sometimes held here, so it may be noisy at times.
Due to the characteristics of old houses, there can be inconveniences such as creaking floors and hearing conversations from the next room.
-There are also many steps, so tall people will need to be careful of what is overhead.
-This is a quiet area that has never seen tourists before.
We would like you to have a positive image of welcoming tourists, so please be careful not to cause noise or other trouble.
・We have two cats. Please be aware of this if you have allergies. If you let us know in advance, we can thoroughly clean the shared spaces and keep the cats out. Cats are not allowed in the guest rooms. If you like cats, please come and play with them.
・We do not use air conditioning as a general rule, as we want you to experience the functionality of the old house itself and the natural changes in temperature as much as possible.
Old houses are good at regulating the temperature, so in the summer you will feel cooler inside than outside. In the winter, the house is well insulated so you can quickly heat up by turning on the stove or brazier.
While being fully aware of the heat and cold, I would like to find various other ways to stay cool and warm.
・If you want to experience the ""inconvenient"" life of an old Japanese house, please come and visit us!

《Around the area》
Ono Town is famous for its persimmons. Persimmon fields are spread all around the area, and in the fall you can buy persimmons at very low prices.
There are also many coffee shops in the area, where you can experience breakfast services unique to this area.
Within walking distance is a walking path along the Sansui River with views of the mountains in the distance.
This Japanese-style mansion is a sight to behold even when viewed from outside the grounds. It is the remains of an abandoned railway line that once ran on it.
There are park facilities that make use of the former site of the terminal station.
A little further away, there is a group of ancient tombs of various sizes, and a spring that gushes out delicious water.
A hiking course that even beginners can enjoy easily and offers spectacular views.
You can have a pleasant stay.

Ono Town has many attractions, including old houses designated as important cultural properties, a group of ancient tombs, hiking trails, and spring water.
If you ask Takeru Kato, nicknamed ""Takepon,"" your guide in Gifu, he will give you a relaxed tour.
If you drive a little further, you will find various famous spots, including the recently famous ""Tea Fields in the Sky.""
We also offer experiences and tours guided by ""Takepon.""
