●Concept of -HIJIRI-
A quiet retreat inspired by mountain ascetic caves, where you can calm your mind
This accommodation is a renovated traditional barn over 120 years old, featuring earthen walls that reflect its long history rooted in rural life.
The name HIJIRI comes from Hijiri Valley, located in the former Deto village, where a sacred cave temple lies beneath a rocky cliff.
Inspired by the spiritual training caves once used by mountain ascetics, the space is designed to feel like a place to retreat and “hide away.”
Inside the room, you will find unique artistic elements, including hidden artwork revealed as you pass beneath walls.
The first floor includes a bedroom, a tatami room, and a restroom.
The second floor features a living and dining area, a bathroom, and a washroom.
The tatami room on the first floor is enhanced by washi artwork inspired by the night sea of clouds, creating a deeply immersive and secluded atmosphere.
The second floor offers a calm space perfect for reading, remote work, relaxing with drinks, or enjoying quiet conversations while overlooking nature.
Ideal for remote work, workation, or long stays in Japan.
Enjoy peaceful moments that help you reconnect with your senses in complete tranquility.
