【Property Features】
Kamikawachi(上河内) district is a small farming village surrounded by mountains and rivers, located about 10 km east of the center of Sabae City. Old private homes line the streets, one of which is the 50-year-old inn. The innkeeper, Mr. Osamu Kojimoto (柑本 修), uses the inn as a one-house rental. Basically, the owner recommends that guests stay overnight without meals (self-catering), and provides support in the form of fresh vegetables and other foodstuffs.
The rooms are spacious, built in a traditional figure of a rice paddy. A narrow waterway runs between the rooms and the neighboring houses, where the wives of neighboring farmers wash vegetables harvested in the area, such as radishes, while chatting with each other. It is a fascinating opportunity to experience a way of life in a farming village that is hard to find these days.
Mr. Osamu is also an immigrant from Tohoku. That is why his words are so convincing when he says, "The people here are very humane. Since there are many farmers here, sharing and exchanging harvested vegetables is an everyday occurrence. Guests may also encounter such contact during their stay.
【The interior design is a traditional farmhouse】
This is a traditional farmhouse with tasteful designs such as balustrades and shoji screens. The second floor is currently not available, but the staircase and other unique features are popular among people interested in old architecture and foreigners. Although they can only look at it, they enjoy it.
【We especially welcome the following people!】
* Foreign students and tourists
Foreign students and tourists: You can experience traditional farmhouse living. Since the basic accommodation is without meals, we recommend that you cook your own meals using the vegetables you harvested during your stay. Delivery of country cooking is also available.
Since it is a one-house rental, you can spend your time without hesitation.
* People (families) who are thinking of living in the countryside, starting a new community, or immigrating to the area
As the innkeeper Osamu himself is an immigrant, he is available for consultation and support for rural life and immigration. Because of his network of prospective emigrants, he is able to offer a wide range of consultation services.
We also accommodate those with small children, and our equipment includes picture books, stuffed animals, and toys.
