The area has been selected as one of the "100 Best Satoyama in Japan" and is promoting the creation of a village where storks dance.
Located in the Sakaguchi district, the inn was originally the home of a lumberjack (woodcutter), and the owner, Yasuo Fujiki, is the seventh generation. The name of the inn, "Mokibiki Sanchi," was taken from the Edo period trade name "Mokibiki. Yarasu-dake, the highest peak in the area, is about 480 meters above sea level, and although not high, the panoramic view of the Sea of Japan can be seen from the top.
It was a long time ago that he was a lumberjack, and Yasuo is now a farmer. At the same time, he is also the representative of the Sakaguchi Green Tourism Study Group, which aims to revitalize the region through exchanges between the city and its satoyama. In addition to this inn, he co-manages the farmer's inn "AOIIE," which is also a green tourism base.
