About Katsura Farmhouse Guest House
Located at the foot of Shirakami-Sanchi, a world heritage site.
Here, you can stay at one of the six homestays and experience a farmhouse restaurant run by the community. Regardless of the season, you will feel as if you have relatives in Minami Shirakami.
From late June to late July, the area is filled with fireflies making for a majestic night-viewing.
"Farmer's Guest House Katsura," was built by a caring family who moved to Fujisato Town about 10 years ago.
They spend their days in the rich natural environment, gathering wild vegetables and cooking preserved foods.
They live in a 120-year-old house surrounded by trees, with a traditional hearth and tatami room.

All the dishes prepared by the mothers of Kasuge district are excellent!
Traditional foods such as:
Damakko, kiritanpo, nanko, wild vegetables, and other Akita delicacies can only be tasted here.
Enjoy a delicious country dinner and breakfast.

Yumoto Wami no Yu
This hot spring is located at the end of Yunosawa Onsenkyo, near the Choshi-no-Taki waterfall.
It has a homey atmosphere, a restroom with a maki stove, and an outdoor bath with a view of the waterfall.
There is an open-air bath where you can take a bath while looking at the waterfall.

You can make kiritanpo, one of the traditional dishes of Akita Prefecture, with us.
Because it is made with delicious rice from Akita, it is soft and sweet.
After making the kiritanpo, put it in a pot and eat it.

Miso is made by brewing soybeans.
Let's make miso while observing how it is made together.

This hot spring is popular among the locals for its hot water from the source.
Next to the center, there is a history and folk museum where you can learn about the history of Fujisato Town.

On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, a buffet of locally grown wild vegetables is popular.

Shirakami Kaido Fujisato
As a direct sales shop, we offer the bounty of Fujisato that can only be found here.
Agricultural products, processed products, and wild vegetables are popular.
Seasonal products such as watercress, wild vegetables, dried rice cakes, and wild grape juice (undiluted) are also recommended.
Sobari Dam (about 20 minutes by car)
The Sobari Dam is a steep valley with cliffs on both sides.

This is a town-run ranch where Akita Shirakami Wagyu beef and Suffolk sheep, a local specialty, are raised.
