Farm Inn Midori No Kaze

This is a cottage type farm stay with a fireplace and hearth table in the living room. The house is located in Kakunodate Town, Senboku City, Akita Prefecture, which is known as "Little Kyoto" for its historic samurai residences and rows of cherry trees.

Outline of the property
This is a two-story cottage farmhouse located in the middle of a secluded forest. It is a very quiet place with no street lights and a wonderful view of the starry sky.
The owner is also a Kabazaiku craftsman and has built a huge pizza oven, a pizza hut, and a log cabin on the mountain behind the house. Kabazaiku is a craft made from the bark of the mountain cherry tree, and daily necessities such as tea caddies are recommended as souvenirs of Kakunodate.

The cottage is for the exclusive use of the guests, and the hosts live in a separate building next door. Meals are prepared by the host family in the cottage and eaten at the hearth table.

Spring: Kiritanpo hot pot, wild vegetable tempura, Hinai Jidori chicken and local vegetables, wild vegetables such as cod roe, kogomi, koshi-abura, butterbur's toe, etc.

Summer: homemade summer vegetable tempura, eggplant, green pepper, okura, shishito pepper, mugwort, mountain udo bud, etc.

Autumn: Kiritanpo hot pot, mushroom dishes

Winter: Kiritanpo hot pot, homemade specially grown vegetables, mushrooms, etc.

As we use seasonal ingredients, the menu will change depending on the season and weather.

Sightseeing spots
-Tazawako (about 40 minutes by car)
Lake Tazawa, where the legend of Tatsuko still remains, is an almost circular lake with a circumference of 20 km and the deepest water in Japan.
　
-The statue of Tatsuko, built-in 1968, is 2.3 meters high and has become a symbol of Lake Tazawa.

-Cherry blossoms along the banks of the Hinkonai River: about 15 minutes by car. The cherry blossom trees along the banks of the Hinkinai River stretch for 2km in Kakunodate, Senboku City, and are one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Akita Prefecture.

-Kakunodate (about 15 minutes by car)
Kakunodate, which still retains the atmosphere of a castle town, flourished as a castle town of the Satake family after the Ashina clan established it in 1620. Kakunodate is also known as the "Little Kyoto of Michinoku" because of its many historical buildings such as samurai residences. The cherry blossoms in spring and the autumn leaves in autumn are also beautiful, making it a must-visit tourist spot.
