●Yoshino River
The Yoshino River is called the mother river of Shikoku, boasting a vast basin area, and its basin offers seasonal flowers and greenery from temperate to subarctic zones. The river is home to a wide variety of fish, from amago (amego) and other mountain stream fish in the upper reaches to sea bass, mullet, and other brackish water species near the mouth of the river, and many species of birds can be seen throughout the four seasons, including shorebirds, ducks, and ospreys on the mud flats and sand bars at the river mouth.

●Kazura Bridge in Iya *About 1 hour by car
Known as one of the three strangest bridges in Japan, this bridge is made of Japanese stone currants weighing approximately 5 tons and is replaced every three years. The bridge is rebuilt every three years. It is a thrilling sight to see the bridge swaying with each step you take. Surrounded by trees and overlooking the Iya River, the bridge offers a beautiful seasonal view with wisteria blooming in spring, fresh greenery in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and magnificent snow in winter.

●Oboke and Koboke *30 min. by car
Oboke and Koboke are 8-km-long gorges created by the torrent of Yoshino River, and are designated as national scenic beauty spots. The origin of the name is said to be "Oboke" because it is dangerous to walk in a big step, and "Koboke" because it is dangerous to walk in a small step. Boat rafting and rafting are also available, and the area boasts beautiful valley scenery that changes with the seasons. Each time you visit, you will enjoy a different aspect of this beautiful valley.

●Ikeda Awa Odori Dance
(Aug. 13 eve of the festival, Aug. 14-16 Location: Around JR Awa Ikeda Station)
About 30 groups of dancers from inside and outside of the city dance passionately in the night of Ikeda. The fusion of graceful female dancers and dynamic male dancers is magnificent. The festival is held annually on the eve of the festival on August 13 and the main event from August 14 to 16, attracting about 70,000 people who come to enjoy the hot night. Tokushima City's "Awaodori" is larger in scale, but the secret of the popularity of the "Ikeda Awaodori" is that you can be closer to the dancing "ren," giving you a more realistic sense of presence and unity.

●Shikoku Sake Festival (held every February)
Miyoshi City in Tokushima Prefecture is a hidden sake brewing area known by those in the know for its sake production, where sake brewing-suitable rice such as "Awa Yamadanishiki" is grown and the subsoil water of the Yoshino River, one of the three major rivers in Japan, gushes out. At the annual sake tasting held in February, visitors can enjoy a wide selection of new sake from all over Shikoku!
