About Yabuta Green Farm

The town of Tatsuno in Inadani, Shinshu is famous since the Meiji era as the "home of fireflies" where the "Genji Firefly" can be seen the most in eastern Japan. It is also known as the geographical center of Japan.

Yabuta Green Farm is the first place to tell the arrival of spring. The farm is located in the Sawasoko area, the home of Fukujuso, a plant that is the first to announce the arrival of spring.

Spring comes with the break of the bright yellow buds of the fukujuso and is followed by the blooming of plum blossoms and cherry blossoms.
You can take a walk in the fields of the satoyama while looking at the oldest roadside deity in Japan. In summer, you can enjoy the fresh breeze.

In summer, you will be soothed by the elegant atmosphere of fireflies dancing in the rice paddies at dusk.

In the harvest season of autumn, you can enjoy the scent of matsutake mushrooms, akebi mushrooms, and golden carpets of rice.

In winter, ice candles and illuminations add color to the winter season in Satoyama.

This is where we are located at Yabuta Green Farm.
　In this 120-year-old private house, we work together with the local community to provide a place where people can interact with each other.
　
We also accept and instruct people who wish to make an I-turn and experience rural life. We are also working to revitalize the area.

About the rooms
The house is over 120 years old, but the rooms are clean and well maintained.
There are two Japanese-style rooms available for your use.

Please feel free to use the kitchen and cooking utensils, bring your ingredients and seasonings, and enjoy cooking by yourself.

There is also a bath in the hotel, but we can direct you to a very good hot spring nearby.

Room rates
　The basic rate is from 5,500 yen per adult, per night with two meals.
If you would like to stay with more than one person, please select from the options menu.
*Children's rates are from 3,500 yen per person per night.

Covid-19 countermeasures
The guest house will try to ventilate the room as much as possible by opening windows and operating ventilation fans.
We take thorough health care measures such as wearing masks, disinfecting hands, and gargling.

Experience
　Satoyama walking experience: Free (reservation required)
　　We will show you around the satoyama and nearby forests.
　　Please note that it may be difficult to make a reservation due to seasonal or weather conditions.

-Mushroom picking experience: From 1,500 yen per person (reservation required)
You can go into the nearby mountain forest and experience mushroom picking together.
You can use the mushrooms for the meal of the day, or take them home. (Please eat them as soon as possible).
Please note that reservations may be difficult to make due to seasonal or weather conditions.



-Assistance with rice planting and harvesting: From 1,500 yen each per person (reservation required)
Please help with rice planting and harvesting! You will be helping for about 3-6 hours, including breaks.
You will be asked to help for about 3~6 hours including breaks.
You will be charged a fee for the experience, but we will send you around 5-10 kg of new rice by mail at a later date.

-Rice planting is in mid-to-late May, and rice harvesting is in late September or early October. Please inquire at the time of reservation if you would like to use this service.

If you would like to participate in either rice planting or harvesting, we will send you the new rice.
Please bring clothes that are easy to move in and can get dirty.
During the rice planting season, the sun can be very strong.
Please bring a face towel, hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent if necessary.

　　　　Tatsuno Town is dotted with a large number of Dososhigami.
　　　　There are many ancestor deities in Tatsuno Town, and this one is located in Sawasoko District.

　　Sawasoko Fukujuso Festival
　　　On the south-facing bank of the river, golden fukujuso flowers bloom through the snow. The golden fukujuso flowers bloom from the snow on the south-facing bank, signaling the early arrival of spring in the mountain villages of Shinshu.
　　　Visitors can feel the breath of spring while enjoying a walk in the satoyama.
　　　During this period, the banks behind the houses are open and visitors can enjoy the Fukujuso while walking along the handmade path connecting the houses.
