Tarumizu Old Folk House offers 3 private guest rooms, decorated in the pure traditional Showa-era style.


Enjoy homemade meals prepared with love by the owners and made with homegrown rice, homemade miso and other local products.


Experience Japanese traditions and bath in a traditional wood-heated cauldron shaped bathtub, and explore new activities during your stay: fishing and harvesting, there’s plenty of fun to be had in Tarumizu! Night sky and firefly observation are also on the menu and will delight nature lovers.

The room price is 1.5 times higher as the listed price during New-Year’s holiday, Golden Week, and Obon holiday.
□Meals
Meal plans are also available. Let us know if you’re interested in adding a meal plan to your booking.
・1 night 2 meals plan: ¥6,700 (tax excluded)
・1 night 1 meal (breakfast) plan: ¥5,100 (tax excluded)
You can also eat at our tea house or izakaya (Japanese-style bar).
□Bath
You can take a bath in the Goemon-buro (traditional cauldron shaped bathtub) from 5pm to 10pm. Following the traditions, Goemon-buro bathtubs are still heated with wood nowadays. It allows the body to warm up and relax.
If you’re interested in a traditional Japanese bath experience, make sure you check availability of the Goemon-buro on arrival and make a reservation.


If you wish to shower in the morning, please use the shower.
