We aim to jointly conduct eco-friendly living that is kind on the heart, body and planet through fully utilizing firewood and solar heat while cultivating crops in the fields. We aim to achieve self-sufficiency in diet, residence and energy.
After working up a sweat splitting firewood, doing some farm work or DIY, you can relax in a wood-fired bath, make a meal together using the kamado oven, wood gas stove or solar cooker, or warm yourself against a wood-burning stove if you feel cold. If you are interested in such natural rural living or have an interest in actually moving to the countryside, you must check us out.
On the first floor, there are three Japanese style room (6, 8, and 8-tatami mats).
Partitions can be removed to make one large room. Basically, we prepare rooms for each guest, however, we may ask guests to share rooms if numbers are too large.
The second floor is a single space that can be used for events. It is ideal for staging concerts or showing movies and so on.
As a rule, we cook dinners and breakfasts together with guests using a kamado oven and wood gas stove.
Based on the concept of "Cuisine that is kind on the heart, body and planet", we normally make meals that include no meat. Therefore, we can also cater to vegetarians.
We adhere to the principle of local production for local consumption by using our own organic rice and vegetables and products made by neighbors.
This guesthouse has a "Teppo furo" (Rifle bathtub) comprising a wooden bathtub that can only be used per person at a time. It takes between 1~2 hours to heat the bath(depending on the season).
In summer, you can bathe in hot water that has been heated by our home-made solar water heater.
Paddy field tours, old house renovation tours, yuzu (aromatic citron) picking, observing diamond Fuji, making New Year special dishes, etc.
First timers will feel amply satisfied by just trying our firewood-based way of life (firewood splitting, kamado oven, wood gas stove, firewood bath).
