Experiences and activities to enjoy throughout the seasons:
Cherry blossom viewing, firefly hunting, wild mountains plants harvest (bamboo, zenmai, warabi),
rice planting and harvesting, potato digging and other farm works, soba noodle making,
pickles, yuzu, nashi and kaki picking, miso making, loofah lotion making, wood chopping,
rice cooking in a wood-fired iron pot, mochi making using a millstone and pestle,
rice and buckweat floor making using an old tool and explanations on the difference between this tool and the machine that now replaces it.
There are many sightseeing attractions in the surroundings of the inn, including the Izumo Taisha Shrine, Matsue Castle, Lake Shinji, the Yasugibushi Theater, Izumo Kagura no Yado where are performed Izumo-style ritual dances, the Hii river (evoked in many folk tales such as "Susanoo and Yamata-no-Orochi"), and the Kojin Dani ruins. Mount Oyama, Mount Sanbe and the Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine (listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO) are further from the inn but still within reach.
