[Go back in time]
Awaji is a place full of kindness. It is called Awaji due to the fact that long ago, Sugawara was mistaken for Awaji Island. At the end, people kept the name "Awaji".
During the postwar reconstruction period the place flourished a lot. Being the point of intersection of two railroads it was a key point of the Osaka northern traffic.
It is still possible to feel the atmosphere of the old city through some places that escaped the air raids during the war, such as the old cinema theater inside the shopping street.
And it's also possible to bath in a bathhouse that has been built during the Showa Era, in 1928! Of course, guests of the Moku Moku guesthouse can enter for free.
There are a lot of different baths and the owner helds events from time to time, changing the regular baths to cypress incense baths, yuzu or lemon baths, or even "duck baths", the latter being very popular amongst kids..!
[7 different baths and 1 sauna]
・Hot water bath
・Cold water bath
[Let's relax and have fun at Moku Moku after a good bath!]
There's a community kitchen right next to the guest house. It's a place for people to gather and have fun, so you can bring food and drinks inside. and have a drink with the shop owner and the regular clients! We will be happy to prepare you Moku Moku's homemade alcohol!

The name of the guesthouse is "Moku moku", which is written using the characters of "tree" and "cloud". Because it's a place where thoughts grow dense like the cloud of vapour raising from the bathhouse's chimney, and deep like the smell of wood and plants coming from the walls.
